Dukto is a free application to send and receive files, folders or text snippets from any Windows, Macintosh and Linux PC or phone in your local network thorugh a WiFi connection without worrying about users, permissions, operating systems, protocols, clients, servers and so on…. Simply start the application and select what to transfer. This item may require a one-time download of components as large as 13 MB. Use of WLAN is recommended.

Here is the changelog for R4:


- Fixed a bug that could corrupt some files when transferring many small files (all platforms);
- Fixed a bug when opening a received file from log (all platforms except Symbian);
- Added full unicode support for fienames and text messages (all platforms);
- Added a “check for updates” button (all platforms);
- Solved speed issues under Windows XP (Windows-only);


And only for Symbian:


- Reworked GUI to be more clean and useful;
- Added the ability to send a folder;
- Locked the access to C: drive;
- Added the ability to turn off alerts about received files (to run it in background without problems);
- Added the ability to directly open a received file (only single file) if alerts are on;
- The UI is now fully multi-language (currently English, Italian ad Russian).
- Also, the Symbian version has now some ad banners. I hope this won’t make this application less useful for you, and at the same time, I hope to raise some money to invest in other FREE mobile software for you. IMPORTANT NOTE: For those who are not able to save the files on your devices, make sure to run Dukto PC client with Compability Mode (Windows XP Service Pack 3) and then the files would be sent and saved successfully. Credits to eugenelim


NOTE: the ads the the symbian application work only if internet connection is available, but Dukto itself will work as R3, without any need for internet connection. In this case simply ads won’t be shown.


UPDATE: some users reported that English version is shown on phones with Russian locale. I’ll take a look at it when the publishing issues with OVI store will be solved.
