These camera and startup mods are for only for Nokia N8 running on Leaked Symbian^4 (Belle). Those who are having Image Quality issues on leaked version of Belle can try these mods, they will significantly improve the quality of images taken through your device Camera. Credit of these camera mods goes to NVT.

Make sure that your device is on hacked Symbian Belle and OPEN4ALL and INSTALLSERVER patches are enabled via ROM Patcher. Uninstall older mods before updating! Install at your own risk! Reboot after installation! Select only 1 mode when u choose your JPEG Quality.

What will be the name and features of Nokia N8 successor? Symbian Belle or Windows Phone Mango?

The first birthday of Nokia N8 is getting closer and people are now getting excited on what will its successor bring. Plus with the announcement of Symbian Belle and new smartphones, Nokia 701, 700 and 600, it just maked the talks hotter.


Few top questions are on the rise and that is the operating system of choice whether it would run on Mango or Symbian Belle or even with MeeGo. Another big conversation is on camera if it will bring a lot of new features. Also another one is the name, as Nokia already changed their naming convention, we expect it would be named on Nokia 800s series. But sadly, we can’t just conclude with these talks until we’ve seen it and hear it right from Nokia.


For now, let’s just have our own conversations here regarding this N8′s successor. Tell us on what you’re thoughts on the N8′s successor.


My own speculations is that, Nokia might announce Nokia 800 with Symbian Belle and with these 16+ MP Carl Zeiss camera, 4.0″ screen, and more. And maybe Nokia would announce Nokia 801 next year now with Mango and with same killer specs as Nokia 800…all just my thought though.

Weve just made it a little better by making some of the improvements we didnt manage to squeeze into the Symbian Anna release.
- We tweaked the UI, to provide camera aficionados faster access to essential camera controls
- We improved the quality of recorded videos, by cranking up the video recording speed to 30 FPS and adding the heavily requested continuous auto-focus.

MODDED SYMBIAN ANNA N8 CAMERA UPDATE (Camera Application 9.23(5)) - 30FPS / 90% COMPRESSION

As you all probably know by now, the Camera update released through betalabs today only offered 25fps video, and has an 85% compression for stills.
I have modded the installation file so that you can now get 30fps video, and 90% (>4mb) photo stills.
If you have already installed the update, go to your app manager and uninstall "Camera application" then reboot.
After reboot, install this version of the update, then reboot again. All done!
UNSIGNED so only for hacked phones or those who have their certs and keys issued before June 23.

A closer look at Nokia X7′s design – Grilled corners, stainless steel body, N8 comparison and more!

Last time we started the Nokia X7 fever by unboxing it to you. This time we’re going to share another X7 fever. So jump in and find out more after the break.


Having used Nokia X7 for several days already made me hooked on the device itself. Especially on the curvaceous body with stainless steel finish on back and the grilled edgy corners that gives the look of a futuristic robotic phone. The sexy factor is also the same on large screen and pure crystal black bezel that surrounds it.


Also, you get more hooked on it’s slim and sleek form factor as it really feels great in both or single hand use.

On the facade of the phone, the grilled corners design are visible which attracts attention. But for me, the back and the side view of the X7 gives most stunning look of the device which showcases it’s robotic and stylish design at the same time. Nokia X7 is really my most LOVED design in all Nokias I have used.

Sides, top and bottom of X7 are also unique due to the curved elongated back. On which you would rather see an arc when you view on on top and bottom. The keys also blend to the body with metallic finish design.

When I put and compare N8 and X7 together, I can barely noticed their resemblance. But when I look deeper on these devices, there is still thought on my mind that X7′s design is quite inspired and sprung from N8. The top and bottom caps would suggest their similarities. And of course, both device has unique hardware design features.

Nokia X7′s design is indeed premium and very unique. From the metal body to the edgy corners it exhibits elements which you can drool and hooked with. So far, Nokia X7 exterior is my favorite both in my eyes and hands.
